Tues: Walked to end of Freeport Dr and back. Unmeasured, untimed.
Thurs: Walked 1 mile (down to Rahanis Park and back). 25 minutes.

(No mocking allowed, I've got to start somewhere. And if I intermittently write down what I do at least I can see if I do better in a couple months.)

I'm the last person to mock someone for starting slow and working up ... <g> I think it's great to see folk doing anything at all. And I think there is probably some sort of feedback seeing other folk are exercising, and how they're doing and helping you do it too ... anything that helps is good. <g>

I just started jogging again this week. Today was the first day I could jog about a half mile without getting winded. My legs were tired though. I used to be able to jog about three miles without getting winded or tired, so I know what it's like!

No mocking from me. Good on you, from a big fat guy who needs to do the same.

One of the things I like doing on walks is silently snarking at some of the houses. But there are lots of things to enjoy about walks!

Oh sure! Tuesday's walk's theme was 101 different ways to decorate a Raised Ranch. (One car garage or two? Color? Gambrel trim over the bedrooms? Bay window or picture window? etc.)

My favorite snark in my neighborhood is the Lace Curtains on the Outside of the House.

But in general terms, here too as you say. This is plan A. This is plan A mirror-image. This is plan B with an extension, etc.

Seriously? What's the point?

I'm serious! I've considered a little LJ photo essay for the purpose of snarking at a few of these things.

But yes: lace curtains outside. But only in the warm weather, and only on two windows.

That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Does your neighborhood run to a particular ethnicity that we can look to for this, or it is just virulent stupidity?

Very, very ethnic. The ethnic in question is "white middle/upper-middle class." I think it must be a Martha Stewart infection of some kind.

I'd like to think that even Martha wouldn't be that dumb, but...

my mother and I bond over walks with snarking-at-the-lights every christmas. As it is one of the few things I can do with her without my blood pressure spiking, it's a lot of fun...

If anyone mocks you, I will behead them.

Seriously.
