Tyger of the East
I'm still speechless. It's an honor I dreamt of deserving in another 15 or 20 years. I feel like I should post something profound, or at least witty, and I'm not managing either one. And it's illustrious company to live up to. Wow.

You represent what the East and the SCA should be. Isn't that what being the Tyger is all about?

I think you deserve it now, and apparently I am not alone.

I was so pleased when they called your name to receive this honor.

Are you given/allowed special regalia, aside from the joy of the populace around your shoulders?

Harold von Auerbach was given a collar of estate with tyger plaques, but as far as I know that was a personal gift to him.

I hear all of Crafty knew about it in advance.

I've been gaffiated so long that I fear this honor was created after my time. Reading between the lines as to what it must mean, I'm in complete agreement that you are deserving of the recognition...and then some.

How timing colors perceptions, eh?

You know my description of the three bestowed Peerages: "Those that do what we do, well", "Those that make what we do possible", "Sports Heroes".
You are in the second category. But you are the Pelican's Pelican.
Really.
You do what you can, always, reliably, quietly. When there are problems, you fix them, cover them over, work to manage what you can. You have not EVER been a maker of problems.
You just get stuff done. For decades.
You are the Pelican's Pelican. This one, anyway.
