Quoted in the New York Times:
“I really do not understand why anybody would want to go anywhere,” Bill Threlkeld wrote. “Stay home. Read a book. Tend your garden. Make love. Drink wine. But most of all — stay home.”

Suits me. I'm dreading the flights to my brother-in-law's wedding in September. Not because I'm afraid of flying. I'm sulky that I can't take my water bottle on a 4+ hour flight, and probably should forego the iPod as well. I'd much rather spend my vacation sitting on the deck here with a cold Chardonnay, in fact.

My real concern on both a selfish and a sympathetic issue is the mother of the toddler or baby who cannot have a sippy bottle on flight any longer. They are going to be at the mercy of the flight attendant bring them something to fill a bottle or sippy cup with. Children's patience levels are not compliant with sanity for such things.

I think in 5 years we shall have to wear approved flight 'Johnny's and check our clothes as well undeneath.

I believe there's an exception for baby formula (which will be inspected - I'm not sure what that means, unless there are inspectors who like the taste of formula... :) ).
