I'm a BSG geek. (cue chorus: "We knew that!") I've been speculating that glasses like President Laura Roslin's might look good on me. But I haven't seen ones exactly like those in stores. Wonder if they're fancy designer ones or what....

The darkness, at least, you can test even without the precise glasses-type. Have you tried taking a picture of her/them into your eyeglasses store?

Personal glasses note: I let the saleslady convince me into smaller glasses than I had been considering. They are more fashionable -- but they're also less useful, because less of the world is in focus. You might want to consider if this will be an issue for you.

I also have enjoyed teasing Metageek, because he went to LensCrafters and dropped a chunk of change and I got glasses I'm otherwise quite happy with at a local optician, and ultra light weights, for under $80.

My current pair are smaller than the ones in my userpic. I've been happy with them after the first 2 or 3 days. My face is fairly large, so I can't go ultrasmall without looking foolish. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Even when mine are pushed up on my nose, I can see a considerable margin of unfocus. Although I've learned to ignore it, it does seem a really anti-'form follows function' situation. They're not that small -- maybe the longer side footprint of an egg.
