msmemory_archiveI'm suspecting J.Jill of enchanting their jeans. Last night I went in to try on jeans, having spotted a pair in their catalog that looked interesting, but being reluctant to mail-order them without trying them on.
Tried on the 16s, my normal size. Way too big. Asked the attendant for 14s. (!!!) She pointed out that the low-rise boot cut style was supposed to be a bit tight, and they stretch. OK, so bring me 14s and 12s, then. What the heck, nobody here to laugh when the 12s don't go over my rear. So I pulled them on, and they fasten. What the heck? Weird, but nifty. Bought the 12s. I don't remember the last time I had 12s that fit, in my closet. Sure, the scale still says about as high a number as it ever did, but I'll just sit here and gloat. And probably wear the 12s to a party some time soon. Go me!
