The hard part, pt 2

The hard part, pt 1, was the terrible cramping and bleeding I've been suffering from intermittently since Christmas or so. Finishing up with five straight days of it, garnished with fever.

The hard part, pt 2, is sitting quietly at home for the next month. I have nice drugs to take for the first several days, which produce a floaty feeling without knocking me out. I feel well enough to consider doing things I know I probably shouldn't. I need to specialize for a while in playing with the computer, reading, watching Buffy reruns, etc.

To the many people who sent their good wishes -- THANK YOU! They definitely help, knowing you all are there and thinking of me.

Sounds like they hit the dosage for the pain meds pretty much bang on - don't strain yourself and do take it easy - you'll need it...

Good thoughts are still being sent your way. It probably would help you to do some very light activity (depending what your doctor advised), but be careful not to over-do it.

Good Thoughts coming your way.

What's with the summer of surgery???

Chris, you, and we found out this weekend another friend.

Glad you're up (atleast virtually)!

Hugs and cat fur from our household to you!

My advice: don't operate heavy machinery ... like pencils.

Glad to hear your (virtual) voice! Remember, take it easy, float on that cloud... A little movement is good, so your muscles start to learn how to do that again, but not too much...

I wish you a speedy recovery again. Sounds like a good opportunity to catch up on reading.

Best wishes

Hey there. Miss M and I know just what you're going through so you have our deepest sympathy. Feel better soon!

Feel better sweetie!

Hi! Yes, take it easy. This is not the time to be macho; your job is to be a sloth.

If your Work Ethic won't let you be a sloth, at least do "work" on the computer. Write things. Send whatever notes of indignation you meant to, to companies, politicians, etc. Write an article for your local paper, etc.

Would you like a visit? I could come, pick you up, and you and I and the kids could go to a local playground; they to be wild, you and I to sit and watch them and chat.

Yes, a visit would be lovely. Let's pick a day next week, and we can watch them expend energy on our behalfs.

Okey, details in private email!

Hope you recover swiftly and completely.

I know it's offering coals to Newcastle, but if there's any books/DVDs you'd like to borrow, I'd be more than happy to loan them :-)

I've been hoping that either you or [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur would give us the update.

Ah, I remember those drugs. I tell stories about what those drugs did to me. The first thing they do is frag your judgement - so please, take it easier than you think.

[identity profile] msmemory.livejournal.com 2004-07-12 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
They let me come home on Saturday afternoon, after 48 hours in the hospital. One of the things in my nurse's release instructions was "don't make any important decisions while you're on Percoset." I haven't done anything more decisive than place an Amazon order, therefore.

Staples come out tomorrow.

More good wishes, more urging of the taking it easy. What [livejournal.com profile] goldsquare said about drugs' effect on judgement. Be careful out there.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope you continue to recover as quickly and painlessly as possible.

If there's any way I can help, let me know....

Glad to hear things are going so well and fingers crossed that I can get enough brain together to get myself to dance I'll bring the Alanna books for [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur to bring back to help you get through enforced resting.

[identity profile] learnedax.livejournal.com 2004-07-12 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm very glad to hear (er, read) that you are doing well, and although I suspect your protégé may have implied this, if there's anything at all I or we can do for you, we're just across town...

[identity profile] rufinia.livejournal.com 2004-07-13 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Take care, rest, and if you need help (cleaning, cooking, anything) call, email, sent a messanger pigeon...

Good to hear you're doing all right!

Sometimes sitting still is the hardest thing to do - but just remember that all the other options are worse.

Be well!
