One of my coworkers just received his new tent via UPS. It's a 10x10 Coleman dome. It's an upgrade for him and his wife and two kids, from their 7x7. Egad. I didn't tell him our big tent is 12x20, for the two of us.
Which I would also do mundane camping, if I had the screenhouse and not the car in camp. Or I'd get a bear canister or hang the food if backpacking. Food does NOT belong in my tent.
I really do think it's mostly garb and crafts, at least for me, that require more space in SCA camping. I can happily camp mundanely with less clothing and only one lucet. Oh, and when backpacking, the pack lives outside the tiny tent and I dress outside when necessary. Come to think of it, I sort of did that last year at GNE...
