No fools
I have no room in my day for the stupid, foolish, or obstructive. One thing I know I'm going to need to develop to keep up with my promotion is more tact and people-handling skills. I know how to get information across; now I need to get it across in ways that people will support and welcome, instead of flinching from. The problem comes when I think the other people are being idiots....

I totally understand. I got better at it by taking various conflict resolution classes at Lotus and IBM. But even when I try very best to be tactful when dealing with absolute morons, I've been told I get a certain look on my face that betrays me.

I've learned, slowly, how to cope...

You clearly do have an ability to handle fools gracefully, or you wouldn't have the stellar reputation you do. It's just dealing with More Fools that would get a person down.

When you figure it out, can you let me know the secret?

I don't think I handle them well either. They don't seem to deal well with being told that they actually are complete idiots.
Good luck with that. (((((HUGS)))
