Alice finally got around to asking me to be an officer next year. Given the horrible politics in our chapter surrounding her station for 09-10, I wasn't sure she would; I kind of hoped she would not.

And she asked me to take a station I have never done before, which gives my brain a little stretch. Next year, I will be Chaplain. I demonstrated to myself in the car between the regional meetings yesterday that I already know the two main prayers, and just need to learn the Opening and the Initiation bits.

To me, this is as close as you get to a "minister" in the order - the chaplaincy is our spiritual heart in practical form. Am delighted that I will be able to see and hear you give it breath. This is a beautiful thing.
