I have voted

Have you?

I was #839 in my precinct. I waited longer at the traffic lights outside the high school than I did in the polling line. (And as I left, I got a poppy from the American Legion fellow, to wear on Saturday.)

#116, but it's a small precinct ... and earlier in the day (being on the left coast and all).

I have voted -- don't know what my number was. Took longer to drop my voting sheet in the box than it should have, because some people didn't realize that the box was right beside the check-out table, and were standing in front of it while checking out...

Yes. I was #638. It took me longer to walk from my car to the polling place than it did to vote. There was no line. I was offered a donut (but declined).

Yup, and helped [livejournal.com profile] kestrell with her voting. We even agreed on most of the votes :-)

I voted too!

Don't know my number. One of the elderly ladies commented that I had brought my passport with me and laughed at me. 2 Years ago in Framingham (North Framingham in fact) I was facing police who coincidentally wanted to see 2 forms of id before allowing any brown folks to even drive up to the school where voting was being held. Meanwhile I watched a Caucasian friend sail on by. I told the lady today that I'm sure glad Worcester is so "liberal".

DSR and I were #s 148 and 149 at 8:15 this morning. It also took much longer to find a parking place than it did to vote (though largely because we'd reviewed the issues carefully beforehand, otherwise they would have taken about the same amount of time).

Voted Green for the first time ever. Both of our gubanatorial candidates are yutzes.

I was finished voting by 7am. The polling place is 1 block from my house. And there are fewer than 800 people who are entitled to vote there.

Voting 3rd Party

[identity profile] baron-steffan.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually voting 3rd-party is a waste, especially this year when as [profile] jducouer says, the Republotheocrats want you to vote anything but Democrat. But I have to admit I
voted 3rd-party for Lt. Gov. here in RI. Robert Healey, perennial
candidate of the Cool Moose Party (I am not making that up) is running again on a platform of abolishing the office. What do we need a Lt. Gov. for, anyway, he asks. I don't have a good answer.

I actually disagree with Justin on some of that point.

Firstly, I refuse to vote for someone who I don't want to win. Voting for an idiot Governor because you don't like the president (and I don't) is just telling the idiot to keep up the being an idiot, because it is working. I refuse.

Secondly, I differentiate between National and local elections. I am confused by the fact that the war in Iraq was ever brought up in campaigns for city government...it isn't like the Cook County Board President is going to stop the war. The local Republicans here in IL have little to do with the national party of fascism and are much more of the old school of fiscal conservativism that Justin was lamenting the loss of. If there were one of those running against our motorhead incumbent Dem governor, I would vote for them...sadly, the Rep is just as much of a dope.

And I wish I had remembered the name of the guy who lost the primary to Stroger. I would have written it in. I really don't think any Chicago office should be hereditary except for Mayor. Sadly, the Republican is another person I cannot vote for, leaving me not voting in that race.

Yes, I voted. While wearing my authentic "Vote Yes! Out Now! Vietnam Referendum 1970" button with the red-white-and-blue peace sign. 'Cause some
things just never change....

I was 238th at 11am. We're a relatively small precinct.
