It's a moot question since we're not going to Pennsic this year anyway, but this:

>Greetings,
>Here is the Order Meeting Schedule.
>Saturday August 12, 2006
>EK Royal

would mean that all four of [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur's orders, and both of mine, would have met before we even got on site. Grr.

But when else? Once the "war" starts on Sunday, there are never any blocks of time worthy of the name.

If I ran the world -- which I do not! -- I'd put them mid-to-late afternoon Monday.

Opposite unbelted championships? Hmmm...

There are no empty times at Pennsic. :-)

Unbelts are at 1:00. That surely leaves 3:00-6:00 at least, which could take care of up to 6 of the orders. (And there's something to be said for holding OTC and Chiv right out there next to the unbelts' point.)

Maybe. I don't know what is on their private schedule. But it is a sure bet that the battle would go for more than 2 hours.

I suppose, if I ran the Zoo, that I'd try some version of "Service Day/Martial Day/Arts Day" for order meetings. Or, perhaps, have them at War Practices, instead. :-)

Mostly the cause of my "grr" is the increased pressure to come for more than a week. Right now, the best time to be there is sort of Thursday-to-Thursday, which is awkward in terms of workers' vacation.

I think that is true. But - whatever. My real life trumps the SCA. That's why I haven't really been for 3 years.

(Excepting my rampaging trip for Steffan's Laurel, which still doesn't feel like a Pennsic to me.)

oh foo

Didn't realize you weren't coming this year! *hugs* (meetings? what meetings lol!)

Grr.

I know I often get patted on the head and looked at as some ivory-tower lotus-eater, but I really think this should be a case of no-harm, no-foul. There's no time at Pennsic you would make, so why sweat it? You'll have plenty of time to worry about it next time you actually go.

As I said, moot question. Shrug. I'm not on royal staff, nobody's secretary, it doesn't matter.

I'm going to try to remember to give this a try. Maximizing Comedic Effect desires that you be armored at the time...

btw.... here in my new kingdom, meetings are frequently called moots, so your first line keeps seeming more punnish to me than probably intended.
