Weekend in flux

I have my weekend all tidily planned out. Friday night, mail the completed freelance job out, dinner with friends, and the Christine Lavin concert. Saturday, Coronation of Brion and Anna. Sunday, more yard work if it's dry, and Eastern Star rehearsal.

But this morning I found out that Mother is back in the hospital, with pneumonia, atrial fibrillation, and CHF. She's 84. So some of that has to give way. Current theory is that I'll either go to CT for the day on Sunday, or go down Saturday night after coronation. Unless they put in her defibrillator on Friday, in which case I'll probably head there Saturday morning instead.

Still can't shake the memory that Daddy died on Good Friday of the spring following our purchase of our previous house, having never seen it. Mother hasn't been up to see me since summer...

I, too, wrestle with what the shrinks call "Anniversary" issues (Most recent one was, oddly enough, that the Challenger went down on the 4th year anniversary of my mother's death). Sometimes just being able to write it out and talk about it, recognizing it, helps.
