Last night we went to Towers Twelfth Night. It's a canton, right, it's supposed to be small? Well, 40 people later, counting the children.... Luckily P & Y have an enormous, recently renovated, house, more than big enough for all of us. We could've had another 20 and still fit.

The potluck was terrific! Lots and lots of food, which kept rolling in as more people turned up. Special kudos to the new fellow, John, who brought a roast duck. There was also roast chickens, roast beef, hare with leeks, mushroom pie, spinach pie, a spinach thing with phyllo, apple pie, cherry confit, lentils, beans y-fried, cider, cordial, etc etc.

Caera was selected Queen of Misrule, and was reigning happily when we left.

And it won't surprise me if I'm a canton officer by the end of the February meeting. Seems they are looking for a herald, a MOAS, or a knight marshal, and I'm not qualified to be a knight marshal (not being qualled in any one-on-one arms form). In conversation with

gyzki, we discussed the fact that it would be ideal to get someone new or new-er to take the jobs, for the experience, but that I was perfectly willing if he needed someone. And I had thought it would take them six months to make me an officer!
