Shopping!

I swear, I spend almost as much money getting ready for Pennsic as I do in the Merchants' Quarter when I get there. Well, that's not quite true, but I have reached the run-around-shops-for-one-more-thing stage of Pennsic Prep.

Yesterday I bought Dr. Scholls Corn Pads, sunblock, hair elastics, and purse packs of baby wipes (and failed to find shorter bike shorts). Today I bought a shovel, hinge pins, "pewter" buttons, and grey thread (and failed to find pattern paper). Tonight I'll look for pattern paper, a mattress cover for the futon, perry, and fresh pomegranates.....

Since not too many people bike at Pennsic, I'll guess the bike shorts are to prevent thigh chafe under dresses. If so, have you considered petit-pants? They're looser and a bit frillier than bike shorts, but they don't hug your skin so closely, so don't seem quite as hot, even though they're about knee length. I get mine at Lady Grace, though you could probably find more normal sized ones in other places, too.
