Position filled

Well, pout. The Large Defense Contractor, to whom I sent my resume in March, and who interviewed me the second week in May, told me just now that as of yesterday the position is filled. (Nothing like speed, is there?)

I hate looking for jobs. Rejection is part of the process, and slow rejection is the second best thing you can hope for. ugghh.

I've been noticing that people move slowly when they're hiring. I sort of expect it (although I don't like it) from academic institutions, but I have difficulties getting responses for corporate empoyers too.

Sorry to hear that. My experience with defense contractors hiring is that they are slooooooooooow. It literally took six months from my first interview to getting the job offer the first time I was at Sanders.

I had that happen a few times too.. which leads me to think that I was a second or third choice, and they were waiting until their first choice had accepted the position before telling me no.
