Cholesterol Fest

Marsy held another Cholesterol Fest on Saturday night, the occasion being Intercon, when her husband (like mine) is out of the house. She takes advantage of it, and serves Macaroni and Cheese, which Charley can't eat because he's lactose-intolerant.
Cholesterol Fest is a ladies' night. Last time I went we had four or five of us, this time there were ten, including five from Windsmeet -- I'm afraid we overwhelmed the one poor mundane from Marsy's office who had never heard of the SCA, and was kind of daunted by all of us who've known each other for a decade or two. (Dante and I have known each other the longest - we lived on the same floor of Munger Hall my senior year. That was 83-84, for those keeping count. The following year I met Darcy. The others I haven't known so long -- maybe 12 or 14 years. Well, Denise at least 16 years, she came to my wedding.)
The menu was Marsy's Mac n Cheese, with several kinds of cheeses; Eliz's Chicken filled with Boursin, in a brandy sauce with cream; salad - because you've got to cut that cheese with something!; Focaccia with several toppings; Darcy's brownies; Jessica's little Hamantaschen filled with chocolate; another platter piled with cookies; coffee/wine/seltzer.
We talked til about 10, and probably could have kept going another few hours without noticing.
