8. Scholar of Magics, by Caroline Stevermer. Much better structured than the previous volume, College of Magics.

(Actual book tally is moving slowly because I keep diverting to reread choice bits of books as I pack them. So assume that interspersed with these titles are, for instance, Rochester reuniting with Jane Eyre, and Becca Rosselin-Metadi eluding interstellar pursuit, and so forth.)
