Somewhat less accomplished:

Ironed 7 shirts, 1 skirt
Raked 1 more bag leaves
Spackled a couple more small places
Spread 3 bags mulch on front terrace (need 2-3 more bags)
Tracked down one of 2 OOP novels for Mother
Bought: replacement rake, replacement door mat, socks, Benadryl, wall patch, etc. Also cute little chiffon sundress that I didn't really need but it was at Filene's Basement and only 1/5 the cost of the Versace jeans that didn't fit anyway.
Checked Sunday Globe for library jobs.

So my first thought was why would your mother care if a novel was Out Of Period?

Ditto. And have you tried Bookfinder.com?

I am hoping not to pay shipping on trashy bestsellers. I paid $2.10 for the first volume of the set Mother wanted, and am hoping to pay about the same for the second. (Bookfinder has copies for $1. but then I'd have to have it shipped...) All I really need is a well-stocked Annie's Book Swap sort of place, or a large local library fundraiser sale.

Unfortunately, while Mother reads voraciously, her taste runs to romances, mysteries, and trashy bestsellers, with a sprinkling of autobiographical travel stories.
