Doomed?

What is it with the Hudson Valley?
I think I have only been to one event in Concordia, ever, the EKU where I taught the award and precedence system. The next time I was supposed to go to Concordia, for Twelfth Night (when I was to receive my Pelican), we had a foot of snow, and I cancelled.

Hrim Schola isn't in Concordia, it's in Frosted Hills, but I'm watching the ascending predictions for stormy weather and wondering if it would be stupid to go. I have some contempt for weather wimps, and don't want to be one - but I also have no need to crash my car (or spend a dozen hours driving) trying to get there when there will be other competent people... But I do have 4WD...

Oh indecision!

The drive was fine until the Berkshires, when things got a little interesting. The Tacomic State Parkway south was unlabeled for the first 15 or 20 miles and looked as if a narrow plow might have passed that way once. It was tough going, and there weren't many cars going south from I-90 first thing in the morning. But the sun broke out and made the snow on the lawn absolutely beautiful. :-)

Roads were slushy-yucky coming back, annoying but not too dangerous.

One of these days I may give up and get an emergency cell phone.

Tacomic... ugh.... That road is part of the reason why Ryan and I have sworn off attending Barleycorn anymore, in Northpass..

Emergency cell phones are worth it. Really. Just remember to keep them charged....
