It takes place in The Place's new home on Key West, a sequel to Callahan's Key. Mike Callahan doesn't actually appear in this one, though there are many familiar faces like Jake, Eddie, and Doc Webster (and their sharp repartee).
I was trolling through audible.com's listings (kr1mz0n_ghoti gets books through them for long car trips and I was curious what they had that I'd read for recommendation purposes) and noticed that spider has once again snuck _two_ whole new Callahan-verse books in without my noticing! (Key and Con)
Something will definitely have to be done about this situation :)
I heard about them a while ago, but the reviews on Amazon (from self-described Callahan Fans) were lukewarm at best. What did y'all think of the newest ones, then?
Yep. Don't get me wrong, I'll keep reading 'em, and buying 'em and ... <g> at least until his writing goes south. It does feel with some of the books that while he loves the characters, and wants to do more with them, he is at a loss sometimes for where to go with them. I won't give away the ending to this one ... but have some kleenex nearby.
