According to the Travel Channel, one can rent the Hampton Court Palace for functions, for $30,000. "Have your own 16th century banquet," said the narrator. Heh.

Funny, I suspect they weren't thinking "bring your own costumes and entertainment, and cook your own food that you researched yourself eaten from plates you made" when they said that...

Rent Caerphilly Castle in Wales; it's much cheaper -- about 600 pounds for an entire day and night till 1:00 AM. :)

And of course, one can rent Hammond Castle for $750/hour. I don't know if one can get a weekend rate: they say that the museum has to stay open, but I've noticed for other events that is not strictly true.

I may well do that sometime, when I have a party/event I really want to throw.
