(meant to post this Monday)

9. Charmed Destinies.

Three fluffy fantasy/romance crossovers, one each by Mercedes Lackey, Rachel Lee, and Catherine Asaro. The Asaro story just won a Sapphire Award.

I never heard of Rachel Lee or Catherine Asaro... (I know Mercedes Lackey books, as she's actually a falconer in the midwest). Would you recomend either of them? I'm not a big Romance reader (okay I've never read a romance book) but I like fantasy, and I don't mind if the fantasy gets a little "romancie" aslong as that's not the whole book.

I'd recommend the Asaro story, yes, and I'd recommend her work in general. Not the Lee - I sort of skimmed it after the first 10 pages or so, when I saw too obviously where it was going, and didn't like it.

Wich Asaro story was it? I finished her Skolian serries this week, except for the book that's still in hard cover.

I'm never going to catch up - wah! :^P That sounds like it might be an easy read - I like collections. After Odd Girl Out I think I'm going to start Heat of Fusion, partly because it was highly recommended by [livejournal.com profile] editrx and partly because it's a collection of short stories (which I enjoy).

The current volume I'm reading for [livejournal.com profile] editrx is shorts, MASTERS OF FANTASY.

I'm about ready to get back into denser, weightier stuff. Perhaps Vol 2 of Kushiel, or more David Weber, next.
Unless I get sidetracked by the next Sally Lockhart (Ruby and the Smoke), or Katherine Kurtz. Or...

Yeah, vol 3 is out, but I haven't read vol 2 yet :)
