I'm really tired of B acting as though she thinks I'm a retarded orphan who has no idea how to do my job. I know she'd like to be doing it herself, but she doesn't have the training, and when she's asked to pick up some of my excess tasks, she whines about it.

Today's first email "reminded" me that (she thinks that) when I route the table-of-contents of a journal, I should cross off the routing list after it's been sent [the issue being knowing whether it's been done -- but it's not her job to do even if I do drop the ball, which I haven't].

The second one wanted to suggest that I should be entering all the ASME/AIAA papers we own in the database, not just the ones that have been ordered on projects (been doing it for years).

The third email, copy to my boss, recommended that I ask the boss whether I should retrospectively key in some other papers (it shouldn't be up to boss (P), it should be up to me.).

If B has so much free time to tell me how to do my job, why can't she pick up some of my loose tasks then? Ooooh, because she has Engineer in her title.

I'm having a hard time with the idea that you could be precieved as a retarded orphan at anything (or by anyone). Is she blind deaf and dumb?

Can you get your boss to make B back off? Or at least get your boss to tell you you don't need to listen to B?
