Piano movers

Any recommendations for local professional piano movers?

I can't find the name of the fellow who moved the piano here from Mother's house in CT, and when I asked Mother, she sensibly pointed out that he very likely wasn't going to want to come up from CT to move the thing two miles across Waltham.

I'm becoming more and more resolved to move our storage stuff from the former Storage Depot to Public Storage, and figure I can amortize the movers' cost in 2-3 months, based on the lower prices at PS.

What kind of piano? Metahacker and I moved an upright from way-the-heck-out-in-Western-Mass back to Waltham, didn't inflict more scratches on it than it already had... ok, that's not saying much.

Spinet (upright, but not as tall as a true upright).

I'm hoping that whoever I get to move the piano will also move the mahogany sideboard.... :)

The most respected name in piano (and harpsichord!) movers in the Boston area is Deathwish Piano Movers. While I have not had occasion to do business with a piano mover, myself, my keyboardist friends have recommended them highly; I gather they do a lot of the harpsichord and historical piano lugging for the BEMF. Despite the heavy-metal logo, they're well known in classical music circles.

Thanks! I know Catrin called them when she adopted her upright piano a few years ago.
