Not a power play

Really. Just because the seneschal's under the weather and needs one of her deputies to fill in (Brokk or Justin) and if Brokk comes Rozi can't because their baby's a little sick too, so she'll need a fill-in secretary....

I told Eleanor that it was OK to tell both Brokk and Rozi to stay home, and Justin & I would just handle the meeting. Councils have been kind of short, lackadaisical, and pointless lately anyway -- no "spirited debate" like we used to have in the Old Days when Steve and Cardinal Michael used to get going, so running the meeting should not be too difficult.

I'll bet we could find you some troublemakers to liven up the meeting if you'd prefer. :-)

I sent Eleanor my announcement for Marshal of Fence, since I can't make it tonight -- can you let me know if I need to send it to someone else?

[identity profile] msmemory.livejournal.com 2004-03-01 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Could you please send it to me, too? Just in case.

A lot of the hardcore ideologues have stopped coming to council. I came here for an argument!. Oh, I'm sorry, this is Abuse. Argument is second door on the right. Still I heard a rumor that we were going to discuss:

Mandatory camping at the Carolingian Pennsic encampment by all Baronial officers, guildmasters, borough-heads, canton-officers, and champions.

Creation of a new Baronial Order that is less exclusive than the first three.

Deal-structure of the Baronial ownership of land for a permanent event site.

Whether the spirit of the society can properly be called 'the dream'.

Weren't you also going to rewrite your baronial-election policies and discuss surcharges at events for corporate members? Or did those get tabled until next month?

(Just remember: trouble needs to be stirred up occasionally to prevent it from becoming lumpy.)

[identity profile] antoniseb.livejournal.com 2004-03-01 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
No need to table it, they get discussed *every* month.

Oooh, yeah! Roll them all into one! Then it will be three times more inclusive! Might as well do the same for Chiv, Laurels, and Pels.

oh yes, the Chirurgeoun says "don't get hurt" in case he didn't send that in himself

[identity profile] dkapell.livejournal.com 2004-03-01 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
well, i said more than that, but thats what it boils down to.

but, yes, in general, don't get hurt. in specific, people thinging of proposing events at which people might get hurt, and they dont want them to be, should contact me.

well yes, but you aid that about hte april meeting. so i figured i'd save that for hte aplril meeting :)

[identity profile] dkapell.livejournal.com 2004-03-01 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
ah, makes sence, i was thinking that people would be thinking about proposing events in the next month, so letting them know now might be worthwhile, but its not like there is less than 6 months before any event that gets proposed next month runs, so there's plenty of time
