As I sit here mending garb for Pennsic, I wonder - could it be financially reasonable for someone to sell ordinary sewing supplies at Pennsic? Regular Coats & Clark thread, snaps, hooks, needles, etc. I suspect the return on costs wouldn't be adequate to support a booth, alas, but I recall I wanted to fix my hem last year and couldn't find someplace to buy plain dark green thread. (Linen, silk, cord, oh sure: but not sewing thread.)

It's not a business by itself, but it would be a wonderful add-on to a fabric or clothing booth. It doesn't take up much room nor much capital, so it's the perfect thing to bring along. There have definitely been times when I've needed that.

Depending on the logistics, I would also happily pay a merchant to do on-site mending if needed. Almost anyone's hand-sewing looks better than what I can do under camp conditions. (At home I can use good lights and a magnifying glass to see what I'm doing.)
