I can't believe the eye doctor is booking five months out for routine eye checkups/glasses prescriptions! I'm very tempted to go doctor-shopping so I can see someone before April.

I am happy with the practice in the Lenscrafters in the Burlington Mall.

I'm looking for an opthalmologist rather than an optician, though I may take your suggestion *too.*

I believe they do both - call and see.

Optical Insight at 50 Mall Road has a wait time of a few days. I'm not sure if they have an opthalmologist.

Seconded. And with the ophthalmogist they referred me to. I do not think, unfortunately, they have one on staff.

My opthalmologist is Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston in Waltham and it took me about two weeks to get in. However, I don't know whether or not that is standard for them, and it may have been acccelerated because I was getting something abnormal checked out.

(Basically what happened was that my doctor at Lenscrafters saw suspected abnormalities on my retinal scan and referred me in to OCB.)

I love Dr. Capino on Bridge Street in Lowell: 978-452-2100

I have been seeing Dr. Edelstein in Waltham for fiveish years now, I adore him. Not sure if he's what you're looking for but here's the info anyways:

I go to Newton Wellesley Eye Associates in the Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

So do I - it was Dr. Smith's receptionist who assigned me April, but did put me on a waiting list in case of cancellations.
(Do you see Dr. Smith also?)

I see whoever is available.

I see Dr. Heidi Fisher who used to be at Newton Wellesley Eye Associates (who I started seeing, in part, on your recommendation). When I'd first contacted NWEA, I couldn't get a timely appointment with your ophthalmologist, so ended up seeing her, and have been pleased. She's left to form her own practise, since.

I recommend:

Traveis, Dr. Mark 781-272-9365 385 Cambridge St Burlington 01803

but he's just an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist. There's another optometrist in the practice, but I'm not sure who that is these days.
