I raked about 40% of the front yard last night, down to bare grass. After that wind came through overnight, you can't even tell any more which part I raked.

I'm tired of being the mommy. I can't imagine how bad it would be if I actually had kids, but meanwhile I am tired of being the information source, the person who actually has to handle the crisis, find the missing, wash the clothes, make the reservations, send the correspondence. I want somebody to mommy me!

Can you tell I tossed and turned much of the night, with simultaneous post-nasal drip and heartburn?

I am so with you on that. Damn it, I need a wife!

I used to say that, but...

Now I have one. It doesn't necessarily help. Turns out what you need is a skilled administrative professional. Like Penny from Iron Man. Or something.

There's a difference between a "spouse" and a "wife". When Andy married me, he got a "spouse". We're still waiting for the "wife" to come along.

On fuller consideration, I sometimes think *I* am the wife. :)

But do skilled administrative professionals do the ironing?

no, no, they take the stuff to the cleaners' to be ironed.

Actually, they don't anymore, of course. That's what personal assistants are for, right? to do the part of the old administrative secretary job from the Harlequin romances that you now have to pay people lots of money to do (very deservedly I might add)...

(oh dear, I hope that's not offensive...)

I think I need one of each.

Ironing is an evil creation of the Cursed Overlords. Resist it. No, seriously. 8grin*

There, there dear. The words are "the uterus is not a homing device my love". We often find things because we are the last one that puts them away. But a personal assistant would be nice.
