I want to crawl back under the covers and not come out til after tonight's reception.

This is not helped by the fact that my brand new dress doesn't fit me well, and I don't know whether it's my fault (diet) or the shop's fault (packed up the wrong size) and it's far too late to ask them to Fedex me a different size. Maybe I'll run over to Macy's at lunch...

Not really, but thanks for the offer. I'll wear that some other day this month, probably when I'm going to someplace air conditioned.

I'd help with fitting the dress also, but we wouldn't get it done tonight *sigh*

Also, I was planning on wearing long sleeves tonight. The weather is scheduled to be high 50's low 60s, and I'm assuming it's not going to be that warm inside, even without air conditioning. (Is that wrong?)

Safety Pins. I'm definitely going to pin the neckline of the dress to my bra, so we have no untoward Wardrobe Failures. I *may* also try to take in the side of the dress right under the arm with some heavy-duty pins. Luckily, the misfitting problem is that the dress is almost a full size too big, rather than too small. And I do have a spare dress in my garment bag in case of emotional meltdown. Heh.

Re: long sleeves. The building isn't air conditioned, but I suspect we are going to have 100 people in a room better fitted for 80. If you have the option to wear something with a removable jacket you may be happier.
