I found that it fell apart about 7/8 of the way through. There was this nice novel going along, which happened to take place on Darkover, and it felt like at the last minute someone said, "Ohmigosh, it's the FALL of Neskaya. Time for Neskaya to fall, then!" Now, if I were an editor....
I haven't liked the MZB and coauthor stuff as much as the original MZB stuff, as a rule. The ones cowritten, or ghosted, by Adrienne Martine-Barnes are not bad, but the others, eh.
