msmemory_archiveThat's two more friends laid off today [not from my company]. And I have the very quiet feeling that when I stuck my head in a co-worker's office here I was interrupting his mental psych-up for a phone interview: he had that look. Certainly he was trying to cover up some place else that his mind had been.

Date: 2009-03-05 09:38 pm (UTC)The Bush economy stuffed too much cheap money out there, and now the cheap money has to go away - and that contraction is painful. I almost miss the cheap money.
Reminds me of the old joke, in post USSR Russia. A man wakes up, and he notices the heat is working. He flips a light switch, and the power is on. Excited, he runs to the sink, and runs first the cold, and then the warm water - which is HOT.
He rushes back to bed, and wakes his wife screaming "Terrible news! The Communists are back in power!"
