I wonder if our outdoor thermometer (digital, wireless) is capable of registering a negative number? Right now it says 1, and they say tomorrow night will be colder.

Hey, you're doing better than we are. Our kitchen thermometer reports -8 outside.

Regrettably, it also shows 38 inside. And I'm afraid it's probably accurate on both counts. It will be SO NICE to get the roof on and the structure sealed and heated....

It was cold when I left the house this morning. We don't have a thermometer, but the failed crackling-spit test showed that it was well warmer than 50 below zero.

Yeah, it's about that here in Chelmsford. I never mention the temp to my Mom anymore, though; she's 4 hrs north of here in Maine, and it's often 10 degrees colder in the winter there. And then there's the wind chill.

I'm staying inside today!

Yes, it does :) This morning, it read -1.7 degrees. I was very sorry to get out from under the nice warm patchwork quilt on the big bed.

I hear that it is supposed to get colder before it gets warmer. Good luck.

This is strange, I thought I knew you from one of your posts I read, but I realized you aren't the person I used to know. Actually, you seem more interesting.

However, keep warm.
