Help me LJ brain collective!

Is there a way to expand an entire thread of responses all at once, so you don't have to expand each individual little thread, then close it and move on to the next? For instance, if you're coming late to a post with 263 comments on it.

Why close it?

Look for the "expand" link instead of the "thread" link. I think that's available for all account types.

I think it's only available for certain layouts, because I've never seen one, alas.

You don't see any Expand tags in this discussion?

Do you perhaps force your journal layout throughout LJ? That might account for it. I changed my journal layout, went back to that discussion, and realized that I was looking at Liam's layout, which definitely permits the Expand tag.

I see expand tags plural. I thought what Jane wanted, and what I certainly want, is an "expand all" tag so that I can click once and have everything expand rather than having to click and click and click.

Oh... no, that doesn't exist. I figured all she saw was the "thread" tag, since you do have to go back and forth to read threads, whereas the expand tag keeps you in the same window.

Expand All was indeed what I hoped to find, as Jen says, but at least Expand means I don't have to keep switching and redrawing the window.

I'm pretty sure there's a Greasemonkey app in Firefox, but I don't think there is a way to do this in IE.

(and, LOL I'm pretty sure I know what you're trying to read)

Mine always works that way. I didn't know anything else was available.

Mine is a GreaseMonkey script called "LJ Thread Unfolder". Dunno where I got it or how to get it to tell me, though.
