I'm so looking forward to Birka.

It's the one time of year when I can go into a bar and anticipate that I will know almost everyone there, and the rest are about one degree of separation. My own little Cheers - everybody knows my name. The pub at Birka is homey.

Then there's court, where good things will be given to good people by a good Crown. And of course Shopping! And hot tub, if I can find time - though I'm usually the only one there Sunday before breakfast.

This is the best argument I've ever heard for going to Birka! Maybe someday I'll go for overnight; it didn't thrill me as a day trip.

Yes, its the overnight part that, for us, is the most fun.

Its a bit like a camping event in that way. You're all staying in one place and often there is a chance after the chaos of the day to sit and catch up with people you don't normally get to spend time with.

I look forward to seeing you!

Do you still have my cups? :D

No, I gave the cups and shoes to Red on Twelfth Night weekend when she came over to play in my library, because we thought she'd see you sooner.

I'm surprised to find myself excited about going, too, though I'll only be day-tripping. Hopefully I'll see you there.
