I drove home last night in the gap between storms. Sure I would have liked to see the costumes for the Steampunk Ball, but sense won out. The roads were in good shape, and not too many other people were out. I had to shovel through the plowing berm at the foot of the driveway plus enough of my side to get the car in. There was 8-9" of snow on the ground at that point, and it was just starting to snow again in dreamy gentle flakes when I declared "enough" and pulled the car off the street.
This morning, I brushed another 4"+ off the car, and boldly drove straight out without reshoveling.
Lucky [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur is going to get to deal with the whole driveway, covered with about a foot of snow. But he has the noisybox to help.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around Buffy time.

I drove home at 1am which was... challenging, but the empty roads meant I could happily do 20 (an exciting 40 on the Pike until I abandoned it in Watertown!) and not get hassled. The only slightly scary moment was a moron in a Saab who passed two of us on Main Street at dry-road speed and then spun out at the top of the green metal bridge near Waltham Lime & Cement, continuing to cross the bridge sideways for a while. At my speed, I had plenty of time to come to a leisurely stop and wait for them to sort things out.
