Customer service at last

I seem to have made an impression on the manager of the sales droid at the Toyota dealership. He called me again today, just to tell me they still hope to find me a car sooner than 1/23, which would be the approximate delivery date if they have to earmark me one that's still on the production line. And promised to call me again on Friday.
(Note that the sales droid herself has still not called me, and may have been cut out of this sale by her manager by now. Serves her right - no calls in 11 days is not customer service. She deserves to have her commission cut on this one.)

Date: 2004-01-01 06:53 am (UTC)January 23? Yeesh. Here you are, champing at the bit to try out your new wheels (and show them off to friends, coworkers, and passersby on the street), and they've put you on hold for that long? The car should be worth it when you get it, but how much frustration do they want you to feel along the way? Good luck! Maybe they'll discover that overlooked vehicle that exactly matches your specs tomorrow morning, in Rhode Island, and you'll have it Saturday....
Okay, it's a long shot, but why not hope?
