Where might I find tea tins? Assorted sizes, stackable, re-labelable? It seems loony to buy boxes of tea and throw it out, just to get the nice airtight tins. Should I just buckle down and buy them from Teavana (even though theirs don't stack really well)?

The clear-top square tins might do? I imagine you could use a dry-erase marker on them, although I'm not 100% sure of that

I suppose I should add that they do not have a minimum order. You can even just order one of each to decide if they're what you want or not, and if not you're probably out less than a dollar. I ended up getting a lot of spiffy little containers for my bento boxes.

If you're looking for something for bulk tea, this won't help, but for bags I like the wooden tea chests from the English Tea Store. The "imperfect" one I bought was beautiful.

I tend to have some of these leftover. I buy much of my tea from Adagio, and the amounts roughly corresponding to 4 and 8 ounces of weight come in metal tins with UV-shielded clear tops with rubber gasketed seals. They're generally a light shade of green, with the company logo and a spot for a label, though at least one has been more specific to the variety of tea it contained. I've reused these tins many times, either when I buy the refill quantities of tea, or buy tea elsewhere. The tea from them is generally good quality, and cheaper than it would be from Teavana.

The Container Store sells erasable labels, or probably any office supply store has a similar product you could apply to it.

Tealuxe has a couploe different sizes of tins available on their website. Or, you could just stop by the next time you are in Harvard Square or on Newbury Street.
