Nice raise

My new boss (not quite a year - but it's been *quite* a year!) just phoned. She didn't want to wait til our F2F meeting next week or the week after for my review to let me know what my raise would be. I got a very nice percentage! Of course, this goes with my added responsibilities and forthcoming supervisory tasks... Somehow, Chris just knows how to make me feel appreciated and supported, even while adding piles to my workload :)

Yum! I feel a sushi dinner coming on.

It just keeps comin'! Dr. G phoned just now to check on me, and to say that the ovarian tissue pathology was all benign and normal. (I had my ovaries out Tuesday, laparoscopically, since I wasn't using them for anything and they're a source of estrogen in my body which isn't a good idea. [ER+,PR-,Hr2-, for those who understand])

I told him about the shoulder thing, and he agreed with the nurse that it's normal, too, either as wandering gas or just kinked-up muscles. Weird IMHO, but normal in his POV, so I won't worry.

(ETA: But having just watched the first few episodes of Torchwood, my brain keeps hearing Capt. Jack pronouncing it "eeestrogen"!)

(mild gripe)
[livejournal.com profile] editrx warned me about the CO2 inflation, which Dr. G didn't bother to mention (he really didn't discuss methods in my preop visit). [livejournal.com profile] the_nita and [livejournal.com profile] asdr83 agree that the shoulder pain is normal after laparoscopy and matches their experiences. It would've been nice if Dr. G had mentioned it when talking about side effects and complications, wouldn't you think?
I suppose he didn't think about the fact that I'm still fear-full enough that little pains still make me worried unreasonably.
