I am working my way, with patience and ingenuity, through a mailing list file dumped out by our mail house, called Bad Addresses. Many of them are simple corrections - transposed digits in the street number, for example - or companies who get their mail at PO boxes instead of a street address. But two very large blocks turn out to be closed facilities. When I Googled on them, I discovered that the relevant buildings had been closed and sold by our erstwhile corporate parent. Boy, are we out of the loop.

I remember being in a crew of people who researched bad address people using AlumniFinder (I had a former employer who felt it was worth it to shell out for this).

I am a great deal more worldly than some people I meet, and I wasn't sure quite how to explain to one frustrated coworker that Mr. Ben Dover residing at 69 High Street was unlikely to ever be found.
