Masters at Arms

I got an interesting question just now about the East's Masters at Arms. I don't keep a separate list of them: they're all mixed together with the other members of the Chivalry. So I did the list off the top of my head, looking at the Chivalry roster.

Randal of the Dark. Tearlach the Profane. Feral von Halsstern. Beo Wyrmclaw (Meerstappa), Roibhlin MacDomnial, Padraig dubh MacEanriug, Rolf Gunnarson, Bjorn Karlsson, Balfar von Grunwald, Ruslan Novgorodcev, Allyn min Teanga, Turlogh O'Rourke. Hanse von Drachenklaue.

Resident in the East but not elevated here, Mistress Gwenllian Rhiannon.

Do any of my loyal readers know of somebody I missed?

D'oh!

Thanks.

I'm glad someone else mentioned Kobi.

As I recall, both Vis(?) and Lucan were Masters, but have both converted to belts. I'm not sure about Vis.

Linette de Gallardon's husband -- Wolf or Wulf something. Wulfric, maybe.

Lucan converted. Vis resigned the baldric, then was persuaded to accept knighthood.

Wulf-something. OK, I'll have to track that one down.

Wulfstan the Unshod?
Didn't Frodo take a baldric?

[identity profile] nazrynn.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes he did.

Vis didn't exactly convert: he was knighted two(?) years after he gave up his baldric. My impression was that Lucan didn't go as long unbelted, but I wasn't as close to that.

For the original question: Sean Ruabaruah. (Or are you only counting more-or-less active?)

I believe Lucan went a couple of days between, but that's rumor and I don't think I was in court that week.

I was in court. I don't even think it was a couple of days. He handed in the baldric and got a belt as I recall. There was more ceremony, obviously...

[identity profile] goldsquare.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct. It was an in-court trade, if I recall.

[identity profile] msmemory.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily active --heck, not necessarily living.

OK, I'm not sure which wolf- is married to Linette, but using your clue I found three more Masters:
Wulfbrand Weigand
Wulfgar of the Wood
Wulfstan the Unshod

Thanks

I thought Wulfstan the Unshod was resident in Aethelmearc, not East, but I could easily be wrong.

[identity profile] metahacker.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Darn, you're right. He was baldric'd in Aethelmearc.

I *think* I mean Wulfgar of the Wood.

Linette's husband is named Wulfgar. Can't say for the rest of the name; is Wulfgar + chivalry unambiguous?

You're just looking for people currently resident in the East (as opposed to elevated in the East), right?

[identity profile] msmemory.livejournal.com 2008-07-31 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Elevated in the East + resident in the East :)

Which leaves out John the Pell, who was the only one I noticed that no one else mentioned. I think y'all got 'em all.

*snort* ... and of course Master Feral. Who is apparently too obvious to mention in my head...

My pleasure... it's like an addiction, really. And you make the info accessible - I'm more of a junky. :D

I'm pretty sure that Takechi lives in Indiana these days...
