Temp crown

Got the temporary crown over the site of the recent root canal. Applied considerable tequila-based anaesthetic yesterday evening :) Today my mouth is only a teeny bit tender, probably mostly from the abuse of keeping it open and having two people working in there for an hour. No tequila for me tonight though: too many little chores to do.

I do a crown and a root canal just about every year (legacy of soft teeth - at least according to my hygenist), and I've always found that the greatest source of pain is muscular from holding my mouth open that long. The tooth/gums are sore, the jaw is in agony. I wish they'd invent a little prop so that you could relax but still not bite anyone.

They did. My dentist gave me this black rubbery block thing to stick between my teeth on the other side to help prop my jaw open. Didn't help. My jaw muscles on that side just got all sore from biting down on it. Jaws are simply not designed to be that wide open for that long unless you are an anaconda or a boa constrictor. :-(

Hope you feel even better by evening, and sleep well even without the anaesthetic. Though a little right before bed, post-chores, is always an option. :-)
