I'm all packed. It's a terrible thing, being Indecision Lass and going to an event that's all about wearing appropriate attire at every turn.

I packed:
2 gowns, 3 2-pc eveningwear sets, officer's gown
3 dresses + 1 skirt-and-sweater set for daytime
3 polos, 2 of which have OES logos
shorts, chinos
gold shoes, silver flats, black pumps, flip-flops
swimsuit (the hotel has a pool and hot tub)
pajamas and kimono
assorted undergarments, pantyhose, etc.
cardigan, pashmina, raincoat, mink stole, umbrella
gloves (for receiving line), handkerchiefs (how many women do you know who have handkerchiefs in this day and age? I inherited a small drawerful.)
computer, iPod, camera, cell phone
novel I'm in the middle of reading, 2 more novels just in case

Now all I need is my own bellhop.

[livejournal.com profile] jducoeur makes a cute little bellhop.

Robin opted for the Cabana Boy. :-)

I'm sure you'll have a grand time, though!

Oh dear, the power of Indecision is a powerful one! The need to overpack is one of the key side effects.

I was, obviously, thinking of you when I claimed to be Indecision Lass!

I can't use a ladylike handkerchief. I do carry a bandana almost all the time so the odd explosive sneeze can be contained and the not-so-odd sniffles can be coped with. I dislike using disposables like tissues when a reusable will do nicely, but I keep tissues for the killer colds where the bandanas cause too much abrasion. Visitors also find these useful from time to time.

My persona has two handkerchiefs made of midweight unbleached muslin so she can pretend to be ladylike and not wipe her nose on her tunic sleeve. When clean, these also apparently work well on violin chin rests at warm gigs. (Some days, one's own experience can be enhanced by taking care of one's fellow performers.)

You forgot to pack the chocolate!
And I am envious of your drawwer of handkerchiefs...
