Numb

Two, not one, wisdom teeth pulled. Happy fun Percoset haze planned for evening. Nobody ask me to do anything more smart than opining on Dancing With The Stars today, ok?

Owwww. I hope the drugs do the trick. Do you have any wisdom teeth left, or were those two the last?

I still have the two on the other side. I went there today expecting Dr K to pull the cracked and deteriorating one on the upper left, and she firmly informed me that as long as I was numb and gassed up, she intended to do both of the left wisdom teeth. Which was the right call, but I didn't have a lot of time to psych myself up.

I'm not in as bad shape as I feared. Perhaps that's the drugs, but she tells me I may be perfectly fine as soon as tomorrow. Meantime, I have a cold drink, a brand-new novel [yes, [livejournal.com profile] tpau, I'm starting Passage today], and a chair out on my deck.

Definitely follow whatever advice you were given about alternating heat and cold packs. You should feel great by now... but then the site of the extractions will stiffen up and get uncomfortable again in another day or two if you don't treat it with heat and cold as directed. Trust me, been there, done that. Seen my brother do the same thing: day 2 he's feeling awesome, day 3 he's stiff as hell.

OUCH.
Feel better.

Yipes!

Well, better THIS week than NEXT week. I hope you feel better soon, and let me know if you need anything. (I have started a collection of trashy Linda Howard romance mysteries - the heroines all fall in love with the craggy-faced extra-muscular cops that handle their case. I'd be happy to lend you some.)
