You stated "It violates all historical and contemporary subcontinental principles of modesty", and I was illustrating that no, it doesn't. I was not even remotely claiming that wearing a backless choli was appropriate for a Dravidian costume, in fact, I specifically stated that it most decidedly was not.
Next time I suggest that you a) read for comprehension, and b) do some research beyond what your modern Indian music instructors tell you before attacking people with your post-Mughal, post-Victorian knowledge of Indian morality and values.
