Sigh

The ophthalmologist appointment for which I have been waiting 14 weeks is scheduled for the day we're supposed to get 9-14 inches of snow.

ETA: She cancelled, and we have rescheduled for next Monday.

14 weeks? Was there a really long wait for a particular specialist you wanted, or are they that thin on the ground more generally? Yikes.

Good luck with the snow.

Not a specialist, my regular eye doctor. I called in September, and was told for routine appointments (basically I need my glasses prescription reviewed, as it was 2 years old in October), they were booking January. I asked if I could see someone else in the practice group sooner, and was told no. I'm now waiting to see what happens with tomorrow's weather, because I really don't want to wait that long again if I have to reschedule.

I suppose that in September, or now, I could start calling random other practices in the area, but I've seen Dr. Smith two or three times now and been well satisfied, so hesitate to change.

With luck, *they* will call me and offer me another slot, say next Monday instead. Since Dr. Smith has children, she may want to rebook all her patients and stay home on the snow day.
