Fun with data

I've been squeezing in bits of data-entry at work, in between real actual work tasks. So today I'm keying in the court report from the day I got my AOA. (10/7/89)

Other AOAs that day:
Rolf (MSCA); Cynthia (OL); Catherine (?); Ygraine (OL, OP); Thorgeirr (KSCA); Nicholas (active, not a peer); Beo (MSCA); and Yezdigurd (active, not a peer).

Scary.

Of course, it's fishing for correlations. You could fish at the non-AOA honors that day and find: Gwynedd (inactive); Donal (mostly inactive); Rhys (dropped out, out of kingdom); Katya (out of kingdom, activity level unknown); Barbara (mostly inactive).

So the data doesn't really tell you anything -- except maybe that I'm a busybody who still knows the whereabouts of people who were all at one specific event 14 years ago.

Hey! Was that the Falling Leaves at which Barbara was made Baroness?

If so, that was my first event.

Yeah, that's the one. My first event was a Falling Leaves, too, though back then, it was "Ladies Champion Tourney."

eh. My first event was only 2 years after that. I don't feel so bad / feel very old / etc.

Now I feel old. That event you're talking about is seventeen years to the day after I joined the SCA.

No wonder I don't get out much anymore. I'm a fossil.
