Ice storm

I had to sprinkle sand all around the perimeter of my car so I could stand securely enough to scrape off the ice this morning. As I pulled out of the driveway, our neighbor across the street was standing over his car, waiting for the defroster to finish its work. I wonder if I should have stopped to see whether he needed a scraper to help with the task (saw no sign of one).

In second grade, Mrs. Griffin used to put thematic poems of 4 to 8 lines on the blackboard, rotating them every week or two. She had one called The Ice Storm which I loved, and I don't remember even a bit of it except that it really made me visualize the sparkly beauty of sunlight on ice-coated trees.

DSR tried to go in to the office, but came back as it wasn't safe outside. I managed to get the ice-melt down to make it safe for the mailman, and stuff is melting now.
