Dateiversary + 1

Tonight we'll go out for a modest anniversary dinner. We didn't go last night because of dance practice, but the anniversary of our first date is Halloween, so we commemorate it every year. Alas, Grendel's has pared back to just a pub, closing the restaurant part (it's now the chi-chi Upstairs at the Pudding), but we're likely to go there anyway for tradition.
22 trick-or-treaters last night. I don't know whether we're in a generational lull in my neighborhood or if the very small children started before I got home.

Happy Anniversary!

Date: 2007-11-01 03:19 pm (UTC)We had many kids last night. They came in clumps of 15-20. I didn't even bother to count; there were well over 100, I'm sure. And yet we still have candy left over.

The owner hadn't been paying the rent because he was in jail for violating a restraining order. He seemed so nice when WE dealt with him... The church where we got married was sold a couple of years later, and did a stint as a comedy club called "Oh God That's Funny," but ended up back on the market.
Sometimes it feels like someone is trying to tell us something...

Date: 2007-11-01 08:42 pm (UTC)Beth and I also celebrate our Dativersary: actually it's part of our Anniversary Week (10/29 Wedding, 10/30 Date, 10/31 Moving-In). (Um, yes, different years [grin]). Beth worked the early shift yesterday so we could go to Spain (That's the restaurant in Cranston, not the country: we'd been there before, but this time was disappointing. Oh well.) Then we went to see Nightmare before Christmas (in 3D): we'd never gotten around to seeing it. It was a pleasant way to avoid the whole hordes-of-urchi thing....
