Amazon dis-service

I just have to bad-mouth them in public, being a dissatisfied customer.

Did you know that the audio version of The Deathly Hallows isn't being delivered on Release Day? Neither did I. It hasn't been shipped yet, but it's supposedly too close to its shipping date to cancel. (Presumably, I get to pay return shipping on it, but I'll have to wait til it gets here at the end of the week.)

We went to Barnes & Noble and bought it in person, no reservation, no problem.

And that's what we'll continue to do with special date-of-publication purchases from now on. Because I've had nothing but attitude from Amazon today.

ETA: I did finally get a responsive answer from Amazon, explaining how to refuse the package when it is sent. But caveat emptor on buying nonstandard formats from them. We got the hardcover, at least, as ordered.

If it hasn't shipped yet, can't you call the credit card company and cancel it with them? You shouldn't have to accept the order if it hasn't even left their facility yet. of course, if it lands on your doorstep anyway, after you've cancelled, you're not liable for it. Call the card company.
