Patri's memorial, briefly

A wonderful turnout for Patri's memorial yesterday in Worcester. We could've used another dozen chairs at least.
SCA (current or former) people I spotted:
Ygerne d'Annot
Reynard des Montaignes
Marian the Tavernkeeper
Pryder
Anton of Winteroak
Elayne Courtenay
Michael of York
Catrin o'r Rhyd For
Lark of Esherwood
Doug White
Tibicen
Hubert d'Avignon
Harold Longfellow
Frydherik Eisenkopf
Ki-lin
Larissa iz Kieva
Leiftameon
Gwendolyn of Middlemarch
John of Canterbury
Eithne Fraser
Cariadoc of the Bow
Justin du Coeur
Alejandra
Florian of the Glen
Derhilde
Mara Tudora Kolarova
Alexander the Storyteller
Eowyn Eilonwy
Steffan ap Kennydd
Elspeth Keyf
Peter the Red
Arlyana van Wyck
Keturah
Jovonne d'Esprit
Jacobus Jaeger Draake
Annsem
Barbara, of course, and Antonia and Julia
And the children of several of the couples above.
I'm sure I missed some, due to the wonderful turnout -- not to mention, some of the senior members I may not have recognized. Things went very well. There was a slide show of Patri photos on loop next to the lectern. Many people spoke with great passion about the impact Patri had on their lives, starting with Doug who knew Patri in college and moving up through people who'd just met him in the last few years, but it was not a weepy or angsty day, it was a day to praise him, not to mourn. One gentleman read a poem he'd written. Jeff Forgeng mentioned he's contemplating a biography. I did promise Barbara I'd hunt through our things for some SCA-related Patri photos, since I'd spotted only one in the slide set and speculate she doesn't have many.

Date: 2007-06-10 11:12 pm (UTC)I think most of us don't have many SCA-related photographs. For a long time, taking pictures during events was frowned upon (possibly still is) so there just aren't many around. Looking is a good suggestion, though - there was a demo on Cambridge Common sometime in the late 80s that yielded some photos, and one University day. Hmm. We have a Patri picture from a tea dance early on, though.

the packets are in chronological layers with the most recent at the top.
Ki-lin, whose camera still has to be fed film every so often.
(Wanders off to the loft humming "Someday my prints will come..")
